Libby grew up in the Midwest, attending schools in Missouri and Illinois. She graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in fashion merchandising, but had always maintained an interest and talent for the arts. Soon after moving to Colorado, she began taking pottery classes and was quickly caught up in the magical process of turning a lump of clay into something beautiful and useful. While experimenting with different glaze and design techniques, her own unique style emerged as she created a line of lodge style stoneware with a cozy rustic appeal. Her designs of nature, combined with the natural beauty of the clay, reflect her love for the mountains and outdoors.
Over time, Libby has broadened her pottery making skills into a variety of styles and uses. Her functional lodge line, perfect for dinnerware, bake ware, and serving pieces, is suitable for use in the oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Her “dogbone” dog ware includes bowls and matching treat jars in graduated sizes for your canine companion. Hanging bird baths and bird feeders, decorated with sculpted leaves and natural twigs, will add elegance to any backyard, along with coordinating chimineas, candle lanterns, and scented candle filled votive holders. Just recently, she began making her own candles, using her pottery as containers. Her 16 ounce rustic candle crocks are filled with scented candle wax, and best of all, the crocks are reusable.
Please keep in mind that each piece is individually made and designed, and as with any original art, there may be slight variations in size and color.
